Karwachauth is one of the most popular Hindu Festival, in which married women fast from dawn to dusk for their husband's long life.
While on fast, lot of toxins are released from our body. Many feels like acidity, nausea, headache, lethargy, etc. To avoid this situation, it is important to know what you can/cannot eat in Sarghi, to be active throughout the day during fasting for your beloved partner.
Here are some healthy tips to remember for Karwachauth, so that you remain energetic throughout the day::
Traditionally Karwachauth fast is observed by eating Sarghi early in the morning before sunrise and breaking the fast at night after moonrise.
For Sarghi----
- Have tea with lots of milk and low fat meal to avoid acidity.
- Sweet should be taken in very very small quantity, otherwise we will feel very hungry during daytime.
- Protein rich diet, e.g. milk products.
- Dry fruits (rich in good fats) to keep full during the day, preferably 20-22 soaked almonds.
- Fiber rich fruits.
- Take pomegranate and you will not feel thirsty whole day.
After Moonrise----
- Break the fast by drinking water or fruit juice.
- Dinner should be light with foods high in proteins and carbohydrates.
- Have fresh lime water after food to aid digestion.
- Say no to oily and spicy food. .
I wish everyone Happy Karwachauth, may this adds harmony, understanding and love in the married life of each and every couple.
NOTE:- Basically Karwa is another name for earthen Pot and Chauth means fourth day of Krishna Paksh in the month of Kartik.
